Join us in Casablanca for the 3rd edition of the ICC North African Arbitration and ADR Days which will be preceded by the ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy for Africa. This major event in the region is organised in partnership with ICC Morocco and Ifriqya Arbitration Forum.
After Tunis in the first two editions, Casablanca will be honored for this new edition. This unique event for practitioners or aspirants to the practice of arbitration presents a unique opportunity to meet his peers as well as regional and international experts.
Join us for two days of discussions-Debates during which a training session on the conduct of arbitration according to the rules of the International Court of Arbitration will be held, followed by a conference to take stock of the situation in North Africa and identify the prospects for practitioners in the region. Young practitioners will also be honoured at the ICC YAAF event.
This must-attend event is a great opportunity for all in-house counsel, company secretaries, lawyers, arbitrators, mediators and generally dispute resolution practitioners who wish to connect with their peers while learning about the latest developments in their field of expertise in North Africa and beyond.

Fireside chat : Economic Overview in the Region
|
10:00 – 11:10 |
Session I - Seat of Arbitration and Predictability: Overview of the local case law One of the major features of the world's major arbitration hubs is the support provided by local jurisdictions for arbitral proceedings. This session will provide an opportunity to review the case law of North African state courts on the validity of arbitration agreements, the enforceability of disputes, the extension of arbitration agreements to non-signatory parties and any other subject relating to the jurisdiction of arbitral tribunals. Our experts will offer an analysis of case law in the region to determine whether it meets the expectations of economic players in terms of legal predictability.

Session II - The place is as good as the arbitrator In arbitration, whether ad hoc or institutional, the choice of arbitrator is a central act with major consequences for the parties and their proceedings. In addition to the quality and experience of the arbitrator, what is at stake is his or her independence, impartiality and availability. The existence of a large and diversified pool of arbitrators therefore contributes to the formation of a major arbitration centre. In this second session, our experts will examine the role, mission and qualities of the ideal arbitrator. The discussion will also focus on the central role of an institution such as the ICC in the constitution of the arbitral tribunal to ensure the integrity of the proceedings. Finally, the different approaches adopted by North African and foreign jurisdictions to the control of arbitrators will be debated during the session.

Lunch |
14:30 – 15:40 |
Session III - Encouraging confidence in arbitration and building an arbitration-friendly environment In addition to the support of the state judge, the existence of a large arbitration place is based on the combination of a number of factors that contribute to creating an environment conducive to arbitration. This final session will aim to enlighten the audience on the importance of peripheral missions to arbitration and amicable dispute resolution methods to strengthen confidence in arbitration and the emergence of large arbitration hubs in the field.
