Join us for a lively discussion on illegality and corruption issues in international arbitration. After a keynote address, practitioners from diverse jurisdictions will address some of the thorny questions on this subject, such as the difference between illegality and corruption, the arbitrability of corruption allegations, the burden and standard to prove corruption in arbitral proceedings, public policy considerations, sua sponte investigation of corruption issues by arbitral tribunals, the sanctions available to arbitrators, and how practitioners can best address these issues in practice. The panel discussion will be followed by a networking reception to continue the dialogue.
