ICC YAAF: What comes first: investment protection or environmental protection?

25 Oct 2023

Prague English
Start : 10/25/2023 18.00 (CET) || End: 10/25/2023 19:30 (CET)

ICC YAAF is back in Prague with an in-person event to spark a lively debate on the occasion of the 13th Investment Treaty Arbitration Conference.

We live in times when the environmental protection has become a number one concern worldwide. Is the international investment protection system a threat to environmental protection? Are the host states given enough space in the ISDS regime to pursue its environmental protection objectives? Will the counterclaims of the host states based on the violation of the environmental protection law become a rule in investment arbitration, rather than the exception? Sign up and become part of the discussions!

This event is aimed at young professionals - dispute resolution lawyers, public administration lawyers, corporate counsel, external counsel, and business professionals – of approximately 40 years of age or under (although anyone interested in the topic is welcome to attend).

This ICC YAAF event accompanies the 13th Investment Treaty Arbitration Conference organized by the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic on Thursday, 26 October 2023. ICC YAAF members and participants are welcome to register: conference@mfcr.cz
