ICC YAAF: Emergency! I need interim relief!

20 Oct 2023

Brussels English
Start: 10:30 CEST (Event’s time zone) || End: 19:00 CEST (Event’s time zone)

Join us for this ICC YAAF practical workshop and learn more about emergency arbitration under the ICC Rules of Arbitration. Practise your skills as counsel and arbitrator in emergency arbitration proceedings and learn how to navigate this tool, now more than 10 years old.

This practical workshop will begin with an introductory panel, where our speakers will share their experience with emergency arbitration proceedings under the ICC Rules of Arbitration. After lunch, participants will be given a mock case and will be divided into three teams (claimant, respondent and emergency arbitrator). Under the guidance of the speakers, the participants will draft submissions and then argue orally for and against emergency relief. In the end, the emergency arbitrator will issue a decision.

Who should attend?

  • Lawyers specialised in dispute resolution or interested in arbitration;
  • In house counsel; and
  • Students

Open to those aged 40 and under, YAAF provides opportunities for individuals to gain knowledge, develop their skills and understand ICC’s arbitral procedure and other dispute resolution services.
