4th ICC Mexican Arbitration Day

09 Oct 2025

Mexico City Spanish
Start: 07:30 (Mexico City time zone) - End: 20:00 (Mexico City time zone)

Explore the future of arbitration and dispute resolution in a changing world at the 4th ICC Mexican Arbitration Day on 9 October 2025.

Under the theme “The Future of Dispute Resolution in a Transforming World”, the 4th ICC Mexican Arbitration Day is a high-level forum that brings together leading national and international experts — including arbitrators, legal practitioners, academics, mediators, judges, and government authorities — to discuss current and emerging trends shaping the practice of arbitration and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms (ADR).

In an increasingly complex global environment marked by political and economic uncertainty, efficient and reliable dispute resolution systems are more critical than ever. Mexico has emerged as a key player in international arbitration, ranking fourth globally in 2024 with 106 parties involved in ICC cases. Its strong legal framework and growing participation in cross-border disputes make it an ideal venue for reflecting on how arbitration continues to support trade, investment, and legal certainty.

This edition will explore key topics such as:

  • The evolving role of mediation in commercial and investment disputes
  • UNIDROIT Principles in Commercial Arbitration and ICC Model Contracts (Contractualization of Investment Arbitration)
  • Judicial–ADR synergies to enhance access to justice
  • Complexities in energy-related arbitration
  • Specificities of res judicata in international arbitration

The event serves as a platform for exchanging innovative ideas, promoting best practices, and strengthening collaboration across the arbitration community. It also aims to support the training and development of the next generation of arbitration professionals.
