This workshop will explore basic principles and economic benefits of the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Transferable Records (MLETR); focusing on how the private sector, especially SMEs can benefit from digital transformation.
The event aims to accelerate the digitalization of trade in Egypt by providing key principles and economic benefits of legal reforms through the Model Law for Electronic Transferable Records, followed by a set of proof-points from foreign countries and institutions.
Focus sessions will cover policy developments globally and regionally, related transformations in the banking sector digitalization, and transport use cases building on the Egyptian single window and other local trends. Additional insights from Egyptian Central Bank, Digital Standards Initiative, UNCITRAL and ITFA will also be provided.
The workshop will conclude with visions for alignment to MLETR in Egypt, including outreach to key stakeholders in the private and public sector.
