Spotlight on Facilitating Settlement and Disability Inclusion in Arbitration

19 Jun 2024

Toronto English
Start: 18:00 (ET) - End: 20:30 (ET)

Join us in Toronto for an evening of discussions focused on two recent publications from the ICC Commission on Arbitration & ADR:

  1. Guide for Disability Inclusion in International Arbitration and ADR
  2. Report on Facilitating Settlement in International Arbitration

Through two conversations featuring members of the Commission’s task forces who drafted these pieces, as well as other arbitration professionals, this event will provide valuable insight into the Guide and Report's key findings. Panelists will also discuss concrete changes business leaders, counsel and arbitrators can make in light of those findings. The audience will be invited to ask questions throughout these interactive presentations.

The conversation on the Guide for Disability Inclusion in International Arbitration and ADR will examine specific action items that can remove impediments, facilitate participation and foster inclusion of persons with disabilities in international arbitration and ADR. Until now, disability inclusion has received little attention within the arbitration and ADR community.

The conversation on the Report on Facilitating Settlement in International Arbitration will examine the present and future role of the arbitrator in settlement facilitation, and how ADR tools and case management techniques can be utilized to facilitate settlement during arbitration proceedings.
