ICC YAAF: Renewable Energy Arbitration: Navigating Contemporary Challenges

08 Nov 2023

Bangkok English
Start: 13.30 pm (BKK Time) || End: 14:45 pm (BKK Time)

In this session, the speakers will investigate why Alternative Dispute Resolution is extensively regarded as the best approach for resolving energy and climate related disputes.

The global energy sector is transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, with the aim of limiting the global average temperature increase to 1.5°C under the goals of the Paris Agreement. This shift is necessary to decarbonize the economy and mitigate climate change, yet it carries with it a greater risk of disputes arising from various activities such as state regulation, emerging technologies, new infrastructure, decommissioning and price volatility. Stakeholder activism and climate-related disputes are also on the rise.

Who should attend?

Open to those aged 40 and under, YAAF provides opportunities for individuals to gain knowledge, develop their skills and understand ICC’s arbitral procedure and other dispute resolution services.

This event is organised on the occasion of the Thailand ADR Week 2023
