Although payment provisions are crucial in all commercial transactions, they are an especially critical aspect of international transactions because exporters and importers have very different interests regarding the payment method. This course will start with a broad overview of the various payment instruments including the widely used Documentary Credit (also known as “letter of credit”) and the international rules that govern it. It is crucial for anyone involved in international trade to distinguish between these instruments when conducting a transaction.
