Join us in Montreal to discuss the present and future role of how the arbitrator, in addition to other ADR tools, can be utilized to facilitate settlement during arbitration proceedings.
Objective/Who should attend?
While arbitrators in some jurisdictions are accustomed to proactively encouraging settlement throughout arbitration proceedings, arbitrators, counsel, and parties in other jurisdictions see the role of the arbitral tribunal as only deciding upon an enforceable award.
In light of the recently published “Facilitating Settlement in International Arbitration” report, panelists will engage in a roundtable discussion examining the present and future role of how the arbitrator, in addition to other ADR tools, can be utilized to facilitate settlement during arbitration proceedings. The panelists will also consider the merits of specific approaches to integrating settlement into arbitration proceedings and how it can be done effectively. The audience will be invited to vote upon the different approaches discussed by the panelists.
Lunch will be provided at noon ET.
