Session I - Let's talk about numbers!: A fireside chat on monetary remedies in arbitration

Most arbitrations eventually come down to a number and getting that number right (or wrong) sometimes matters more than winning on liability. This fireside conversation will touch upon different aspects of monetary remedies in arbitration from perspectives of arbitral tribunal, expert, and parties counsel. The Speakers will share anecdotes on what they experience in practice, success stories, and pitfalls when it comes to getting the numbers right, and what they wish parties know when it comes to monetary remedies.

Session II - The road less travelled: Asset recovery in arbitration amid age of digital assets

As digital assets grow exponentially in cross-border finance and investment projects, arbitration is increasingly opted as the dispute resolution forum for disputes concerning digital holdings. This panel examines how arbitration today addresses distinct challenges concerning digital assets recovery and how Indian Courts acknowledge and ventilate issues related to digital assets recovery arising out of arbitration proceedings.

Session III – Oxford-style debate: Ethics in international arbitration shall be codified to ensure the highest of standards and practices of law.

For the motion: This House believes that codification of ethics is necessary to maintain the legitimacy and trust of international arbitration users.

Against the motion: This House believes that codification of ethics is not necessary as the current domestic laws and regulations on the subject matter meet the standards and expectations of international arbitration users.
