Incoterms® 2020 Masterclass - Americas Cohort

The Incoterms® 2020 Masterclass is targeted at professionals involved in trade and logistics, trade finance banking professionals and those working in legal and regulatory affairs. More specifically it is for the following departments and business functions:

Corporates: Exporters and importers (in SMEs and big corporates), business development and marketing managers, sales or purchasing managers, accountants and audit teams

Trade/logistics: Logistics providers, freight forwarders, custom brokers, general transportation carriers, insurance managers, commercial lawyers/arbitrators, and trade consultants

Legal/regulation: Finance and procurement managers, compliance and risk managers, front-office relationship managers, and back-office trade finance and trade operations teams

This cohort is timed for learners in the Americas and starts on 13 November 2023. The online workshops will take place on 27 November & 11 December 2023 at 6.30 - 9.30 pm EST.

The Incoterms® 2020 Masterclass combines ICC's internationally-accredited online course, the Inocterms with two, 3-hour online workshops (limited to 25 people) that focus more on the practical application of the rules.

Together, they will ensure you have an up-to date, compliant and in-depth understanding of the rules that you feel confident applying in an operational context.

Each of the two workshops will give you an opportunity to ask questions, collaborate with your cohort peers, work through real-life examples and prepare for the final exam.

Our final exam consists of a 60-minute examination which is live proctored via the internet. The passing grade is 70% minimum. Upon passing the examination, learners will be issued an accredited certificate for the program.

Stage 1 (2 weeks): Complete lessons 1&2 of Incoterms® 2020 Certificate
- Lesson 1: Overview of Incoterms® Rules
- Lesson 2: Definition of Incoterms® 2020

Stage 2 (3 hours): First online workshop
Ask questions, check your understanding of what you have learned in stage 1 and go through real-life examples in groups

Stage 3 ( 2 weeks): Complete lessons 3&4 of the Incoterms® 2020 Certificate
Lesson 3: Obligations Part 1
Lesson 4: Obligations Part 2

Stage 4 (3 hours): Second online workshop
Ask questions, check your understanding of what you have learned in stage 3 and go through real-life examples in groups. Prepare for the final exam.

Stage 5 (1 hour): Take the final exam (online) for ICC’s Incoterms® 2020 Certificate.
Those that pass will receive a downloadable Certificate of Achievement signed by the ICC Secretary General. You have up to 2 months after completing the final workshop to take the exam.

Since 1997, Miguel has been an advisor and training facilitator for ICC Mexico on different foreign trade topics and he is a certified ICC trainer on the Incoterms® 2020 Rules. Miguel is also a former president of the ICC Banking Commission and has been an active participant in the last three revisions of the Incoterms® Rules; 2000, 2010 and 2020.
