ICC YAF: Dispute Resolution - Adapting to Change and Opportunities

The Young Arbitrators Forum of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC YAF) is organizing this webinar in coordination with ICC Mexico titled: “Dispute Resolution: Adaptation to Change and Opportunities” due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Different official orders have recently been published in Mexico, both at federal and local levels. They have extended the suspension of Courts activity for an additional month (the proposed date for reopening for most courts is 1 June 2020). The foregoing is significant considering that most users require attention and a solution for their conflicts TODAY. In light of this, in recent days we have come across incredible responses and solutions proposed by key players to adapt their dispute resolution services and the way disputes are approached, these responses come from the users of these services, from the judiciary, from mediation centers, arbitration institutions and lawyers.

Having said this, the question is: what solutions have been adopted today? What alternatives do users have? What have we learned? What do we need to implement? And will this pandemic permanently change the way we resolve disputes?
