ICC YAF: Arbitration or Mediation?

25 Jun 2020

Online Spanish
Start: 16:00 (Bogotá / Lima / Panama) 18:00 (Buenos Aires / Sao Paulo) 23:00 (Paris)

The Young Arbitrators Forum of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC YAF) invites you to participate in the Webinar “Arbitration or Mediation?: How to choose the most appropriate method to resolve each dispute?”.

Currently, and particularly due to the impact of the Covid-19, it is important to optimize times and costs in dispute resolution. This has increased the expectation of negotiated agreements on certain occasions. However, it is necessary to analyse the different dispute methods, while taking into account the advantages and disadvantages of each method, as well as the specific characteristics of the dispute.

This webinar will consist of a debate before “government authority”, responsible for the decision to choose the most appropriate method for resolving the hypothetical dispute. There will be two teams, one representing “Arbitration” and other representing “Mediation”. Each team shall present its arguments in favor of the method they represent, seeking to justify their position against the arguments of the opposing team.
