ICC YAAF-GIAC Workshop on Advocacy: A GIAC Arbitration Days Event

13 Oct 2022

Tbilisi English
Start: 12.30 (CEST) | 14:30 (GET) || End: 14.30 (CEST) | 16:30 (GET)

ICC YAAF and GIAC are partnering up to host a workshop on advocacy in international arbitration. A highly talented panel of practitioners will share their practical tips on how to bring participants’ advocacy skills to the next level.

Strong advocacy skills are perhaps the most important component of an arbitration practitioner’s toolkit and frequently the decisive factor in a case’s outcome. Good written and oral advocacy will elucidate the evidentiary record and offer the tribunal a clear and persuasive path to rule in your client’s favour. By contrast, poor advocacy may confuse and frustrate the tribunal.

In this workshop, which is organized under the auspices of the GIAC Arbitration Days, highly talented arbitration practitioners will provide practical tips to participants on how to improve their drafting skills and oral advocacy. The workshop will be interactive and lively, making use of concrete examples, including mock oral pleadings and cross-examination, and welcoming questions from the audience. It is open to external counsel, in-house counsel, government attorneys, students and any others interested in honing advocacy skills specifically suited to international arbitration
