ICC YAAF: East African women in alternative dispute resolution

26 Apr 2023

Online English
Start: 18:00 (EAT) | 17:00 (CEST) | 16:00 (WAT) | 16:00 (GMT) || End: 19:45 (EAT) | 18:45 (CEST)

Join us online as we celebrate women in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) from the East African Region. Our panellists from diverse backgrounds in Alternative Dispute Resolution will share stories on their career paths, the challenges encountered, lessons learnt and how to stay ahead.

Our panellists have diverse backgrounds from working in the judiciary to navigating dispute avoidance at construction sites, and leading warring parties towards negotiated settlements through mediation. We seek to have an interactive session where attendees will be invited to ask our panellists questions on their career journeys, the challenges they have encountered, lessons learnt and how to stay ahead in ADR. This webinar will bring in perspectives of women from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Ethiopia, and seeks to continue the global celebration of women making interesting strides in their respective careers.

Who should attend?

Open to those aged 40 and under, YAAF provides opportunities for individuals to gain knowledge, develop their skills and understand ICC’s arbitral procedure and other dispute resolution services.

What is ICC YAAF?

At ICC, we believe that through training and mentorship, we can mould the next generation of leading international arbitration and ADR experts. Through the ICC Young Arbitration and ADR Forum (YAAF) network, we are able to better inform, connect and inspire young professionals with interests in dispute resolution and dispute avoidance.

Throughout the world, ICC YAAF organises a number of educational and social events that allow young professionals to discover best practices, discuss topical issues, network and create meaningful connections with experienced practitioners.
