Join us for the first session in our monthly afternoon chat series with Japan-based arbitration lawyers. Hear their professional journey, how they became involved in arbitration and tips for young lawyers looking to work in the international dispute resolution field.
We will be kicking off the “Coffee & Conversation” series with Yoko Maeda, an ICC Court Alternate Member in Tokyo, Japan, and a partner at City-Yuwa Partners .
This bilingual (English and Japanese) series is ideal for Japanese and foreign qualified lawyers and law students. Speakers will share their knowledge and experience on arbitration and alternative dispute resolution matters. Each session will explore a different theme or topic related to dispute resolution.
In this session, Ms. Maeda will be sharing her experience as a dispute resolution lawyer, from when she became involved in the arbitration field, and what she does as an ICC Court Member. She will also share her tips for working in English and across different cultures and suggestions for young lawyers to become involved in international arbitration.
Following the discussion, participants will be able to ask questions (in either English or Japanese).
