We are pleased to announce an ICC-Microsoft Webinar on the theme: "The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – A deep dive into digital technologies and innovations as a means to accelerate the Global Goals." The webinar will discuss the private sector’s contribution to the implementation of the SDGs, in collaboration with a wide range of partners in the UN and civil society, to foster a sustainable future where everyone has access to the benefits it provides and the opportunities it creates. The event will focus on SDGs 8, 9 and 13 and will showcase Microsoft’s programmes and contribution.
While we often focus on “financing” the Global Goals, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development recognized technology, innovation and capacity building, and data as some of the other essential “means of implementation” for delivering the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs. ICC and Microsoft believe that the digital transformation of the global economy, and bridging the digital divide, will make a real difference in addressing the challenges underlying the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and will contribute to more effective implementation. As envisioned in SDG17, partnerships will play a crucial role as vehicles for mobilizing and sharing knowledge, expertise, technologies, and financial resources. Technology can be a positive force in transforming our world and people’s lives when it is developed and used in trusted, responsible, and inclusive ways. This webinar will examine the benefits of technology when it is placed in the hands of those who are addressing our most pressing societal challenges—so they can have a greater impact. Read more about how Microsoft is contributing to each of the SDGs and ICC’s Declaration on the Next Century.
