Incoterms® 2020: Applying them in the real world - Live Training

27-28 May 2020

ICC Academy’s Online Classroom English
Start: 9:00 (Paris Time) 15:00 (Singapore Time)

The ICC Academy, the educational arm of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), is kicking off a fresh round of Incoterms® 2020 Live Masterclass – 'Incoterms® 2020: Applying them in the real world'- set to run from 27-28 May 2020. Participants attending the session will benefit from learning the practical applications of the trade rules, straight from the source of the revised rules.

The newest edition of the Incoterms® Rules, the Incoterms® 2020, are ICC's official interpretations of the 11 most commonly used trade terms in both international and domestic transactions.
While the wording of the trade terms explains quite a bit, from contractual obligation to the risks and costs of sellers and buyers, there is much more than these that the sellers and buyers, transport professionals, their insurers and bankers need to know.
To understand the practical application of each of these rules in any given situation and under numerous circumstances, join us for our Live Masterclass on Incoterms® 2020 with our expert trainer Bob Ronai. The practical applications of the rules in any number of circumstances are not usually discussed by trainers. For example, up until now, no-one has really looked at the application of each rule for the different modes of transport, the documents involved and their compatibility with letters of credit.
The Academy's Live Masterclass trainer, Bob Ronai, one of only three non-lawyers on the Incoterms® 2020 Drafting Group, will explain the practical aspects in detail during this two-day live online training.

Unlike ICC Academy courses, this Masterclasses is a one-off online set of training sessions that give participants live and exclusive access to the subject matter expert, wherever you are in the world.

Curriculum

Over the course of two days, the live session will cover all the 11 Incoterms® rules. For the first part of each lesson, the curriculum will cover what the rule says contractually, (using the Incoterms® 2020 book) before breaking down how the obligation is put into practice in day to day operations, including their compatibility with letters of credit.

Each session will be followed by a live Q@A session.

By the end of the sessions, participants will:

- Gain knowledge of the revised rules and their application in real-life scenarios
- Get an understanding of the nuts and bolts of insurable interest
-Be efficient in tailoring Letters of Credits to meet clients' needs and make informed decisions
- Be ready for a post COVID-19 world of trade by learning about the new Incoterms® 2020 Rules and their day-to-day applications
