Join us in Paris for an exclusive one-day workshop training on construction arbitration!

Based on a mock case inspired by real arbitration cases, this exclusive one-day workshop will equip participants with practical tips on how to navigate gateway issues that commonly arise in construction arbitration and how efficiently manage arbitration process in these document-heavy proceedings.

In the morning session, the participants will work through the typical jurisdictional and admissibility questions and learn how ICC arbitral tribunals have approached these issues. The afternoon session will train participants on how to effectively manage the proceedings and present evidence in construction arbitration.

Who should attend?

The training is intended for practising arbitration lawyers, corporate counsel, engineers and other construction professionals with experience in construction claims.

Case management techniques in construction arbitration

Case studies concerning identifying the evidence, fact intensive issues and multiplicity of claims, including:

  • What specific features of the ICC Rules support an efficient construction arbitration?
  • Bifurcating the proceedings and/or rendering one or more partial awards (jurisdiction/liability/quantum, dealing separately with some of the claims, etc.)
  • How to identify appropriate evidence
  • Tests and site visits – when are they truly necessary or helpful? What procedural measures could make them efficient?
  • Tools for presenting the multiplicity of claims in an efficient manner (chronologies, lists of issues, samples, Scott Schedules)
  • Documents and requests for disclosure in case of a megaproject
  • Use of technology (site visualization, AI for document management, etc.)

Cancellation policy

50% of the registration fee will be refunded if notice of cancellation is received in writing within 20 days after registration. Cancellations after this date are not refundable. Subject to agreement from ICC DRS Education & Training prior to the event, the registration may be transferred to another person from the same company or organisation at no extra charge. Updated registration information will be required.

Please note that ICC reserves the right to cancel this event or to make minor alterations to the content and timing of the programme or to the identity of the professionals. In the unlikely event of cancellation, delegates will be offered a full refund. ICC will not, however, be held responsible for any related expense incurred by the participant.
