Join us for the 10th edition of the ICC BAD which is a key event and is a must-attend for DRS practitioners in the region.
For the past 10 years, the ICC Brazilian Arbitration Day has been a key event in the region which joins not only Brazilian practitioners but also practitioners from the Latin American region as well as Europe. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the 2020 edition was postponed just a few days before the event date, leaving a suspense for the next edition. We held a successful virtual edition in 2021 with over 250 participants and aspire to make this 10th edition the best yet being among the first in-person conferences post-pandemic to reunite practitioners.
Arbitration in Brazil has grown exponentially in the past decade since our first ICC Brazilian Arbitration Day. ICC Arbitration has grown as well with the opening of an ICC case management office in São Paulo in October 2017, which has administered over 160 arbitration cases including seven Emergency Arbitrator proceedings to date. As well as inaugurating an ICC/CNI Hearing Centre in São Paulo in 2018 during the 7th ICC Brazilian Arbitration Day. Currently, Brazil is the most represented nationality among parties in ICC arbitrations from Latin America (38% of all Latin American & Caribbean parties), and it has now reached second place in the overall nationality ranking for the second time (2020 and 2021). Also, Brazil is second worldwide in the number of domestic disputes with 29 cases in 2020.
Line-up of events at the occasion of the ICC Brazilian Arbitration Day:
- 7 June 2022: ICC YAF “Energy Arbitrations and the free energy market: challenges and trends”
- 9 June 2022: ICC Institute Training on Production of Documents
